- Describe the formation of different types of solutions
- Express concentration of solution in different units.
- State and explain Henry’s law and Raoult’s law.
- Distinguish between ideal and no-ideal solutions.
- Explain deviation of real solutions from Raout’s law.
- Describe colligative properties of solutions and correlate these with molar masses of the solutes.
- Explain abnormal colligative properties exhibited by some solutes in solutions.
B. Details of Pedagogical Strategies/Process (Art integrated /Sports integrated/ Story
telling based/Toy based /Any other pedagogy):
- Experimentation technique; Students prepare solution of given concentration. Study the colligative properties by experimentation.
- Collection of data on Vapor pressure of different liquids, Concentration in medicines and sea water, Osmotic pressure of different liquid solutions and purification of water
- Topic of the lesson for presentation by the students (once in a week by
Rearranging classroom setting suitable for group work):
- Collect data from various sources such as internet, library, etc. regarding colligative properties viz. relative lowering in vapour pressure, elevation in boiling point, depression in freezing point & osmotic pressure and discuss their application in everyday life with peers, teachers
- Get familiarize and internalize it by using in solving numerical problems and other relevant situations in daily life.
